Grammy Award-nominee, Cory Chisel and Dave Willems created and founded a rarity in the music festival world back in 2013- a festival with the artist in mind. As America commemorates the Summer of Love’s 50th anniversary, Mile of Music is in its fifth season celebrating the original art of Americana musicians and songwriters. Coming up August 3-6 2017, Mile of Music will host more than 200 artists and 800 shows along the mile-long strip of Appleton, Wisconsin. On today’s show, Corbin In The Dell host, Melissa Corbin, talks with Chisel about how this cover-free event feels more like summer camp, why we must cherish American originals and what makes a Supper Club something special from Wisconsin.
This is a new show. So, we’re experimenting with different sounds, stories, and concepts. In Melissa’s narrative, you may hear a few cicadas and birds chirping. She was harvesting the up-teenth cucumber for a batch of pickles. Check out her “Panky’s Pickles” recipe over on the blog tab. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop us a line at melissa@corbininthedell.com. Don’t miss Melissa’s Mile of Music story in the August 2017 issue of Nashville Lifestyles. Meanwhile, sit back and enjoy the show.
