Piedmont Natural Gas has been matching SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits at various Nashville area community farmers markets this summer and fall. When SNAP beneficiaries spend $20 at these farmers markets, they get an extra $20 to spend on locally and regionally produced products. It’s a win for everybody! Not only do consumers get more for their dollar, but farmers are making more money AND there is a greater sense of community.
